FAQ

Is This a good Trip for Kids?

This is a great family activity. The crew are very family friendly, and the day is catered to what you and your family would like to do. Kids must be supervised by a parent or guardian the entire trip.  All ages are welcome at parents discretion.

What if some in our party like to snorkel and some are interested in trying to troll for a fish and some just want to see the scenery?

This is the perfect day to do it all. We can troll fishing lines on the way to a beautiful snorkeling spot, and enjoy the scenery along the way.

What if we want more food than the light boat snacks?

You are welcome to bring any other food of your choice and use our coolers. The boat has eco friendly disposable plates, utensils, napkins.

Can I bring my favorite adult beverage?

Yes, you are welcome to BYOB. The Boat has safe plastic stemless wine cups, flutes and cups. Please be aware that we do not allow swimming or snorkeling after imbibing alcoholic beverages. Please drink responsibly.

Can I Scuba Dive on this trip?

Unfortunately we are not set up to accommodate scuba. Please visit our sister company Kohala Divers for your Scuba Diving options.

What type of fishing happens if we select that as part of our day?

The boat and crew are set up for trolling. This method of fishing is effective for catching ono (wahoo) Mahi Mahi (dolphinfish or dorado) and the occasional Ahi (Tuna) Trolling allows the boat to move at an enjoyable pace for those on board while site seeing or cruising to a snorkeling destination.

I am only interested in fishing and if we don’t catch, I will be extremely disappointed. Is this the trip for me?

This may not be the trip for you. Due to the recreational nature of the day, and the time and distance covered, the chance of catching fish can be good depending on season and ocean conditions - but is definitely not guaranteed.

The price is for up to 6 people, but there are only 1-2 of us. Can we share the trip with another party?

Most people who charter do want the boat to be a private excursion so it is tough to match parties together from our end. We are happy to put you name and phone # and available time and reach out if another party is interested. Our sister company Kohala Divers takes out snorkelers and ride-alongs a la cart.

The price is for up to 6, but we have 7 and one is a kid - can we all go?

The U.S. Coastguard has certified the boat for a maximum of 6 passengers plus crew, so we cannot exceed 6 guests in any party for any reason.

I’m prone to seasickness - any recommendations?

Ginger in any form (tablets, tea, chews) can be a good natural remedy. Most people have success with over-the-counter seasickness products, such as non-drowsy Bonine. Some people get a RX from their doctor in advance and that seems very successful.

What should we bring aboard with us?

It is recommended you bring a light jacket, hat, sun protection shirt, refillable water bottle, reef safe sunscreen. All of these can be purchased at Kohala Divers across the street from the boat.

You are welcome to bring any food you’d like, and BYOB for alcoholic beverages. We have juices, sodas, filtered water on board and coolers with ice for you to use.
