Welcome New Crew!

Aloha and Welcome to our Crew!

Thank you for joining our awesome crew- Rebekah and Greg have built an amazing business and an awesome place to work! I would like to personally welcome you! I'm Kel (Kelleen Lum), and I do the HR paperwork and payroll, and work with the Training teams. My cell phone number is below, and on the employee list posted on the back room wall. The email address of godiving@kohaladivers.com is our main mailing address, so is seen by all admin staff. The email address kohaladivers@yahoo.com is seen by only Rebekah and myself. You may have received emails from there already, and it is appropriate for anything you may want to keep more private.

We have employee Folders in the back room on the PADI shelf, and that is where your paychecks will appear, as well as paper memos and things requiring your attention. More of a tour to come!

Save this email, since there are some helpful links:

Our Website: Give it a read as its a great crash-course in what we do! Siren of the Kohala Coast has its own page on the site.

Our Booking software: FareHarbor. We have one each for Kohala Divers and Siren, and if you work with both companies you will have a log-in for each. The FareHarbor system should send you a link to establish your own password. This software allows you to view our schedule from home!

Our Point of Sale system is Diveshop 360, which is only at the shop. Depending on your job description, you will become a casual user all the way to an expert!

Operations Manual: This is the monster, a live google doc that gives guidance and policies for everything we do. There is also always a copy open on one of the iPads on the counter. Note that the Table of Contents are links. I recommend scanning the table of contents so you know what is there, then following the links to the areas of your job that are vital and pending and immediate. You can always read the rest on a slow day!

Employee Manual: Also a live Google document, but this is the legal stuff about Jury Duty and what have you. Also open it and look at the Table of Contents. Read sections that are relevant to you.

Attached to this email is our Drug and Alcohol training program. Please complete it at home or in the shop, and let us know when it is done. Because we work on boats, the US Coast Guard has us on a random testing program.

One of the first training videos we will ask you to complete is a HAZMAT tank filling training. I cannot link that here, but it will be available on the shop laptop.

We are a digital Green Fins member, and a PADI Eco-Center. Please take this free course about being a Green Fins Dive Guide: https://greenfins.net/green-fins-dive-guide/

Please watch this very short video about giving an environmental boat briefing: https://youtu.be/m9go7nNA3A4?si=J7KxHcIInkFTlcY9

While you may have just been thrown-in-soaking-wet to our procedures, we do actually have a plan! The training varies depending on your role, but of course we like to encourage everyone to follow their strengths and passions. I am always available and excited to talk about more roles in the company, further Scuba Training, and wherever your dreams may take you!!!!

Welcome!!!

Mahalo,
