Coral Watch Specialty Certification 2024
This Distinctive Specialty course highlights the impact of coral bleaching and provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to identify coral health and record data. The specialty is aimed at snorkelers and divers who would like to become citizen scientist to contribute to a database aimed at protecting and preserving coral health. Our gathered data has helped predict coral bleaching events, and helped scientists with projects to save coral reefs!
Take this Course if you want to
- Raise awareness about the importance of coral reef conservation
- Learn more about coral reef impacts such as coral bleaching.
- Provide coral reef conservation opportunities through participation in PADI AWARE’s Foundation CoralWatch Project
Learn How To
- Use the Coral Health Chart as a monitoring tool.
- Identify coral health and record data
- Plan, organize and execute a Coral Health Chart survey in a safe manner for both students and the environment
- Submit coral health data, contributing to science and conservation.
