Open Water Referral Options 2024
When you have done academic and pool sessions with a dive center elsewhere and then come to us to complete your ocean dives we call this an "Open Water Referral".

Non-PADI? Follow these steps:
1. Bring or send your referral document to verify that the student diver has completed the knowledge and skill development portions of an entry-level scuba course within 12 months. PADI does not recognize the old "Universal Referral Form" and requires a transfer to PADI certification.
2. Before any in-water training, the student diver will purchase and complete: Either PADI open Water manual or PADI eLearning.
3. Complete PADI Medical Statement: If the student diver indicates any medical conditions, the diver must obtain a physician’s approval unless the diver provides a current (within 12 months), signed medical release . Note, however, that any new medical conditions will require a new medical release signed by a physician.
• Complete Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding
• Complete PADI Release of Liability/Assumption of Risk/Nonagency Acknowledgment Form
4. Our PADI Instructor will Assess the diver’s knowledge by administering one of the following, and remediate as necessary to verify mastery:
• PADI Open Water Diver Online Quick Review, OR:
• PADI ReActivate Quick Review, OR:
• Open Water Diver Course final exam
4. Book a Pool session for our instructor to assess the diver's skills by conducting a confined water dive that reviews Open Water Diver course skills in preparation for open water training dives. Remediate as necessary.
5. Book your 2 days of 2 ocean dives to complete open water dives and Earn the PADI Open Water Diver Certification.
This is the path to convert referral training and earn a PADI certification that is good for life and recognized worldwide.
