Refreshing your Dive Certification
Dive Certification never expires, however it is very important to be sure your dive skills are up to date for your safety and the safety of those you are diving with.
Kohala Divers requirements for refreshing certification:
To safely enjoy diving with others in a group dive environment we use the following guidelines when allowing bookings:
If you havent been diving in 2-4 years
It is highly recomended to do a pool refresher course or hire a private guide
If you havent been diving in 5 + years
We require that you do a pool refresher course or hire a private guide.
Refresher Course Options
Pool Lesson refresher course: $145 pp
Any Certified Diver with proof of certification can sign up and complete a pool lesson with one of our PADI pros prior to joining us on a dive charter. These are generally scheduled any afternoon.
We conduct our refresher in a private 10' deep pool. Its great for practicing bouyancy and testing ear clearing skills. This lesson can be customized to focus on your needs.
Private Guided refresher from the boat: add $325 to dive charter price
Any certified diver could choose to skip the pool and instead join the two tank dive trip with a private guide to focus on refreshing your skills in the ocean 1:1.
PADI Reactivate Certification: $75 for Reactivate from PADI, plus $145 pool =$220
PADI Certified divers can do a full certification refresher and earn the Reactivate certification rating.

Book our refresher pool session and earn a reactivate certification card from PADI.
Any of these refresher options can be followed by a two tank dive trip.

Once you've chosen the best way for you to refresh your dive certification, join us on a two tank dive trip. We offer dive charters daily, and our dives are guided by PADI pros at a ratio of 6: 1 or less.
AM 2 Tank dive charter - $209+tax
Scuba rental gear package (for everything) - $58 +tax
(you can also rent pieces of gear ala carte, i.e. BCD rental is $26)
