Steps to Become a PADI Professional Instructor
Becoming a PADI Professional Instructor is an exciting and rewarding journey. Here are the steps you need to take to achieve this goal:
1. Open Water Diver Certification $1188.38 (includes elearning)

Start by completing the PADI Open Water Diver course. This is your first step into the world of scuba diving.

Purchase of Scuba Equipment. The following courses do not include scuba equipment and to go pro you will need to own your own.

2. Advanced Open Water Diver Certification $1256 (includes elearning)
Continue your training by completing the Advanced Open Water Diver course, which introduces you to a range of new diving experiences.

3. Rescue Diver Certification $1667(includes elearning)
Develop the skills to prevent and manage diving emergencies by obtaining your Rescue Diver certification.

4. Divemaster Certification $2905 (includes elearning)
Achieve the first professional level within PADI by completing the Divemaster program, gaining experience in guiding and supporting dives.

5. Emergency First Response (EFR) Instructor Certification $295 (or obtain elsewhere)
Obtain your EFR Instructor certification to be able to teach CPR and first aid courses, an essential requirement for becoming a PADI Instructor.
6. Instructor Development Course (IDC) $2744
Enroll in and successfully complete the IDC, which consists of the Assistant Instructor and Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) courses.
7. Instructor Examination (IE) $1206
Pass the IE, a standardized evaluation conducted by PADI examiners, to earn your Open Water Scuba Instructor certification.
8. Specialty Instructor Training- optional
Consider gaining certifications in various specialties (such as deep diving, naturalist, photography etc.) to broaden your teaching capabilities and attract more students.
